RE: Site sizes at Canyon Campground, Yellowstone NP

You should have no problems.. Reserve a site and go. You should fit most sites easily.

RE: May 31 Shuttle Launch

Your plan sounds great! We were there for a Saturday afternoon launch and the traffic was horrible.. Took us 3 hours to get from Cocoa Beach to Orlando.. JUST PLAIN MISERABLE! I vowed that we would just get a room in the area next time..

RE: Yellowstone Restaurants

We used to love to have some sort of meal in the Old Faithful Lodge. The last 2 times have been just awful, bad bad service and mediocre food. We have decided not to spend money on it again. We tried the burger counter in the gas station/general store to the west of the Inn and loved it. Great service, great food and great conversation.

RE: Cody, WY to Mt Rushmore

I would say take 16 over the Bighorns. The scenery is nice through TenSleep Canyon. The pull is a bit easier as well.

RE: Campground in South Dakota / Wyoming

Save yourself the nightmare and do 16. Still a great scenic drive through Ten Sleep Canyon and only 3 switchbacks, compared to many, many, many on 14 and 14a.
I have driven both several times in a car and would never do 14 or 14a in my coach.

You can also overnight at the Cabella's in Mitchell, SD. We have and it was nice and quiet.

RE: Yellowstone vs Bicycles

I would agree as well. The roads in several areas of Yellowstone are just too narrow and WAY too much traffic.
The Black Hills of SD would be a better bet. Wider roads..

91 Safari Brake issue

Just broke the Safari from its winter slumber.. Started right up.. BUT... No brakes, brake light is on and the pedal goes to the floor. Double checked and looks like there were no leaks. Tank is full.
I can hear the pump engage and run when applying the pedal. But nothing but floor.

RE: Driving Route from West Yellowstone to Colter Bay or Jackson

Go through the park. Easiest way to Coulter Bay and Jackson.

RE: When is best time to go to Tetons and Yellowstone ?

We like late May early June. Springtime, yes I said springtime in the park is not very busy and spectacular! The park usually gets busy after the 1st week of June.

RE: Where to camp in Bighorn Mountains

Check out these sites.
http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/bighorn/recreation/camping/
There are several campgrounds in the Bighorns and a few will support your rig. Try Willow Park CG, no hookups, but nice level sites.
Meadowlark Lake has a commercial operator and they have water/electric sites. http://www.thebighorn.com/meadowlark/lodging.htm
Driving over the Bighorns on HWY 16 is not an issue. Take it easy dropping into Ten Sleep Canyon and enjoy the view!
Hope that helps!

RE: ACME EZE-TOW

I have tried both ways. I think it pulls and tracks much easier with the steering wheal unlocked. At least that is the results I got from our Stratus and now our Grand Prix.

RE: ACME EZE-TOW

Frank,
I did get one and I have had very few issues. I had an issue with one of the hubs/surge brakes, but I believe it was MY doing as I do not believe I adjusted it correctly. Once I got it adjusted correctly I have had no further issues with the brakes.
The only other issue is that the ramps can be slick when wet. Also my Grand Prix sits to low to the ground and I have had to lift the front with a block in front of the ramps before driving the car on the dolly. If I don't, the front will catch on the bolt that holds the adjustable ramps down.
Other than those issues, I have been happy. Tows well and seems to be well made.
